WRIGLEY, FM, ADC, SGDC

(aka; Sir Barks-a-Lot or “Pig” or “Pid” for short)

Long haired German Shepherd

(February 4, 1999 - )

Wrigley was ‘RESCUED’ by Lilian and Brian Cook, from a yellow bus North of Seeley’s Bay, at the tender age of 9 months.  HONEST!  Brian took one look at him and said “you can consider him sold”.  We took him home, and proceeded to find out just how bad a 9 month old could be.  He terrorized our lovely golden (Bremen), and spent many a time-out in his crate!  In his formative years, we took him through many obedience classes with Luv-A-K9, and spent a lot of time training (with the help of our golden).  We can honestly say, that he has matured into a wonderful, active, high drive, lovely, amazing boy.

Once he was under control, (ha!) and with lots of help from his numerous canine friends - too many to name – he proceeded to learn and excel at the fabulous sport of Flyball.  He has obtained many flyball titles – all points accrued with the Up & Running Flyball Team.  He proved he could be a darned good “anchor dog” by not letting his competition in the other lane beat him back to the finish line!  He could certainly put the jets on!  His highest achievement was to obtain his Flyball Master title (for achieving 5,000 points) in 2004.  Wrigley is listed as number 27th on the World Flyball Breed Ranking list for German Shepherds.

He decided that he wanted to use his nose – and started the sport of Tracking.  His Mom hasn’t made the time to continue in this activity, but will get back to that in the future.

His has now switched to the very exciting sport of Agility.  He absolutely loves this sport, and is very enthusiastic about every aspect.  He does love travelling with his canine buddies and playing with them, especially after a day of trialing, or even working at the field, or in the arena.  He has travelled with his friends, canine and human, to various Agility Trials from Port Perry to Cornwall, and earned his Starters title and his Starter Games title this past Summer (2005).

We’re now moving on to Advanced for this season.  Wrigley is a bit of a weave pole maniac – so watch for the “little” German Shepherd weaving through those poles (when he’s not breaking them!!!).

Wrigley’s favourite words!  Frisbee, over, tunnel, chute (go, go, go)

Wrigley’s most hated words!  Stay, wait, table, drop (stop, stop, stop)
